CABLES.

This line drawing identifies the location of the upper and lower tension cables found in your soft top.
Please note there are 2 different length upper cables.
The shorter cable was used in all models to July 1992.
The longer cable was used from August 1992 onwards.
Also shown are the components used to hold the lower cable in place.

This is what the upper tension cables look like. Flexible wire, looped at both ends. cnv4b.

Shown here are the lower tension cable and attaching parts.

Item A - lower tension cable, this one cable fits all models, left and right hand sides.
Item B - lower tensions cable pin. Fitted to the back end of the cable.
Item C - lower tension cable flanged nut. Fitted to the front of the cable.
Item D - lower tension cable plastic pivot arm. Fitted to the front of the cable and holds the cable in place. If this component is broken, then your lower tension cable is not secured and continued opening and closing of your roof will cause the cable to rip through your soft top. This is an inexpensive item, takes less than 20 minutes to replace, and will stop your cable from ripping the roof material.
Please specify LH or RH when ordering.
